Title: “Data2Life. Life2Data” and “TechMousso: Gender + Data”
Organizer: World Wide Web Foundation
Date and Time slot: 6th & 7th October 2016
Venue/Location: Spain, Madrid, Centro de convenciones IFEMA NORTE, Lobby.
Description: Every single day we produce, consume, or use data. Data plays an increasingly important role in our daily lives as it permeates our choices and actions. However, much of the public discourse on data and its benefits, especially open data, still revolves around abstract questions with reach, value, and impact still overshadowed by technology, application, and policy-making. This exhibit looks at two World Wide Web Foundation projects. The first project -“Data2Life. Life2Data” – takes us to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, to explore the relationship between data and people’s everyday lives. The second project – “TechMousso: Gender + Data” – documents how open data was used to address women’s issues through a competition in Côte d’Ivoire.
The exhibit will be on display at the IFEMA Lobby from the 6th to the 7th of October, during the International Open Data Conference.
