When will it take place?

The fourth edition of the International Open Data Conference (IODC16) will take place in Madrid on October 6 and 7. On October 3, 4 and 5, there will be various pre-events associated with the conference. The schedule for all IODC16 pre-events is available here: http://opendatacon.org/agenda/pre-events/

Where is it located?

IODC16 will take place at IFEMA exhibition center (Institución Ferial de Madrid). Their experience as an exhibition center over the last 30 years makes them the foremost institution in Spain, and one of the most important in Europe.

How do I get there?

Car:

IFEMA is connected by the main access and bypass routes in Madrid: M11 (Exits 5 and 7), M40 (Exits 5, 6 and 7) and A2 (Exit 7).

Parking:
At IFEMA, there is a parking service available for the general public.

To speed up the collection of vehicles from the parking facilities, there are ticket machines available in every lot.

Plane:

The Madrid Barajas airport is located only 10 minutes away from the exhibition center, and almost 15km away from downtown Madrid. Madrid Barajas is connected by subway (Station Aeropuerto T-1, T-2, T3 and T-4). Turned into one of the main international airports, with its innovative T-4 terminal, it guarantees daily connections to IFEMA from every city in Spain, and the whole world.

Subway:

Line 8 (Station Campo de las Naciones) arrives at the southern exit of the center from any point in Madrid. In the same way, this line connects the exhibition centers to the various terminals of the Barajas International Airport.

Bus:

A wide bus network gives access to IFEMA from different points in the city:

  • Line 112-Mar de Cristal-Feria de Madrid (IFEMA) – Bº Aeropuerto.
  • Line 122-Avda. de América-Campo de las Naciones-Feria de Madrid (IFEMA).
  • Line 828-Universidad Autónoma-Alcobendas-Canillejas-Feria de Madrid (IFEMA).

Taxi:

With stops in each exit of the exhibition center, more than 15,000 taxis will be available to all attendee/s.

About IODC16 programme

At this moment, we are finalizing the details of the programme. Currently, you will find a draft programme on the website that will serve as guidance as to the subject matter and format of the sessions  (you can access the draft programme here).

How can I register?

There is a pre-registration form available on the website (you can access it here). Once your pre-registration application has been submitted and validated, you will receive in the next few days a confirmation email with direct access to the final registration form.

What is the registration fee?

Registration to the 4th International Open Data Conference IODC16 is free of charge for all attendees.

Do you offer grants or financial help for IODC16?

Initially, we do not contemplate any kind of financial help for transport or other expenses for the general public.

What are the pre-events?

IODC16 will hold a set of pre-events the days prior to the main conference, specifically on October 3, 4 and 5, 2016. The IODC16 pre-event programme is already available on our website (http://opendatacon.org/agenda/pre-events/), where you will have access to detailed information of each pre-event.

How can I register to a pre-event?

Please, keep in mind that registration to each pre-event has to be made directly with the pre-event organizers through their own available channels (web site, email, etc.)

Registration for IODC16 (6-7 october) does not include registration to any of the pre-events.

Where can I have breakfast/lunch at IFEMA during the celebration of pre-events and IODC16?

On October 4 and 5, only coffee and water will be served during the morning, but there are restaurants available at IFEMA North Convention Center.

During IODC16, on October 6 and 7, there will be coffee and food available for attendees.

Commercial proposals

Currently, the IODC16 work team has the necessary human and technical means and resources for the management of the event.

Can I participate as speaker?

There was an open Call for Proposals available on our website –opendatacon.org–, where candidates had the possibility of submitting their proposals for participation. The deadline for submission was on April 4, 2016 and we are no longer accepting applications.

Can I publish content on the blog?

We encourage you to submit a post for our IODC16 blog, as we believe this gives you the possibility to provide visibility to your work while contributing to the open data community. For further information, please contact us at contact@opendatacon.org

If you wish to participate as a sponsor, send us an email (contact@opendatacon.org). The organization’s representatives will contact you shortly to study possible ways of collaboration.

How can I submit a press application?

What is the working language of IODC16?

The working language of IODC16 will be English, considering that this is an international conference. For this reason, all sessions and main conferences taking place during the two days will be in English. Translation into Spanish will be available for the plenary sessions.

What is the target audience of IODC16?

IODC16 is intended for people, public and private entities or organizations involved in open data, such as PSI holders, NGOs, researchers, private companies, entrepreneurs, lawmakers or data journalists.

I am a speaker at IODC16. Do I need to pre-register?

Speakers at IODC16 do not need to pre-register. They will receive an email with a direct link to a final registration form that will need to be completed in order to obtain their tickets.
