Across our Action Areas we’ve been identifying key themes for action. Over the coming days we’ll be writing up notes and sharing the forward plans across these different themes. The initial presentation of key themes emerging is shared here.

About

As hundreds of members of the open data community come together for the 3rd International Open Data Conference in Ottawa in May 2015 we have a key opportunity to strengthen coordination and to set out a shared roadmap to action. With input from diverse voices from different sectors, different regions and different backgrounds, the Action Track at IODC15 will be exploring key challenges, existing activities, and the new actions that are needed to deliver truly inclusive impacts from open data.

We have identified eight action areas which will have sessions at the conference. Each of these workshop-style sessions will be informed by other conference panels, pre-events, and a range of online inputs in the run up to the conference. The selection and focus of these action areas responds to inputs during the call for proposals.

Each action area will develop proposals to feature within the roadmap report produced after the conference, and published by the conference organizers. The report is intended as a resource to support coordination across the open data community, and will provide a point or reference for future iterations of the International Open Data Conference.

Look out for opportunities to shape the roadmap in each of these action areas in the run up to the conference, and by participating in the related conference sessions.
